Buffalo Ridge, 14-Screen Multiplex Approved

July 24, 2014

Garfield Township officials have given final approval for the Buffalo Ridge Center's 14-screen multiplex at the site of the current outlet mall on US-31.

The Board of Trustees voted 7-0 on Tuesday to approve the 34-acre project which will rejuvenate the 22-year-old retail center. The proposed new theater, featuring some 3,000 seats and covering 60,000 square feet, would be an anchor in the redevelopment of the entire center located on US-31 South.

“It will feature the highest quality in HD projection, in sound and in venue,” said Jim Scales, a Grand Rapids attorney representing the owner TC Partners LLC, led by Managing Partner Anmar Sarafa. ”It will be the nicest theater north of Saginaw.”

The project will involve razing the north end of the center, along with two-thirds of the west building. The new theater will be built on the north end of the property.
