New Recreation Center Underway At Interlochen

Oct. 8, 2015

The all-new Dennison Recreation Center is now under construction on the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts. The new center will include a large gym for basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer; weight and fitness rooms; rooms for yoga, Pilates, and Zumba; a climbing wall; shower/changing facilities; and a gaming area, offices and meeting rooms. The building is expected to be completed next fall. Cornerstone Architects is the architect; Spence Brothers is the construction manager.

The center is being made possible by an estate gift from former Interlochen alum and trustee Lee Dennison, who passed suddenly at age 60 in 2012 and left the bulk of her estate designated specifically for recreation and wellness.
