Aerial Mobility Showcase Coming to TC

Traverse Connect will host a regional demonstration of uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) at a free event on Tuesday, May 6 at Discovery Pier.

The Skyline & Shoreline event - which will demonstrate UAS use for public safety, environmental monitoring, and geospatial data collection - will begin with a short networking period at 9am, followed by opening remarks by industry and state leaders at 9:30am. The live demonstration portion of the event will begin at 10am with three flight missions conducted by key partners in Michigan’s growing advanced aerial mobility ecosystem. Traverse Connect, Northwestern Michigan College, Discovery Pier, blueflite, the United States Coast Guard, and AirMatrix will be conducting the following demonstrations:

> Search and Rescue: A simulated operation using a blueflite drone and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter
> Water Sampling and Collection: Overwater remote sampling by a drone
> Bathymetric Mapping: Use of LiDAR-enabled drone for underwater terrain analysis

Demonstrations will conclude at noon. While free, registration for the event is required.
