Coleman Appointed Interim CEO/Administrator Of GT Pavilions

The board of the Grand Traverse County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) voted to formally appoint Rose Coleman as the interim CEO/administrator of Grand Traverse Pavilions after accepting the retirement of Kory Hansen.

DHHS formally accepted Hansen's retirement in September after 29 years on the job. Hansen served as the administrator/CEO of Grand Traverse Pavilions for the last decade. His retirement is effective October 31. Coleman, meanwhile, has served as COO of clinical services for the Pavilions for the last nine years and will serve as interim administrator/CEO while a national executive search is conducted to officially fill the position. Coleman has confirmed her intent to add her name to the list of candidates interested in permanently filling the organization's leadership position.

Coleman started her career as a certified nurse's aid (CNA). She has a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on education and is a Board Certified Gerontological Nurse (RN-BC), Nursing Home Administrator (NHA), Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Certified Professional (QCP) by The American Health Care Association/Nation Center for Assisted Living, and holds the designation of Certified Director of Nursing (CDON) through the National Association of director of Nursing in Long Term Care. Coleman is currently completing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and Strategic Leadership (DNP) from Spring Arbor University and is scheduled to graduate in May 2023. She also has previous administrator experience, having served in leadership roles in both municipal medical care facilities and faith-based senior care organizations.
