Hickory Hills to End Ski Season with Slush Cup March 16

The City of Traverse City will wrap up the ski season at Hickory Hills with its annual Slush Cup event on Sunday, March 16 - the "grand finale" of the winter season.

The city describes the Slush Cup as a "fan-favorite tradition" that challenges skiers and snowboarders "to make it across a giant pond of icy water - often in the most outrageous costumes possible! Whether you're competing or just cheering from the sidelines, it’s a guaranteed good time." The free event will take place on March 16 - the last day Hickory Hills will be open for skiing - from 1pm to 3pm at the Magna Carta hill.

Those looking to participate can register in the lodge from 11am to noon the day of the event. A parent or guardian must sign a liability release for participants under 18. "Competitors get one chance to make it across the pond. Will you sink or skim your way to glory? Either way, it’s an unforgettable way to close out the season," according to the city.
