McManus, Seaburg are Sheriff's Office Employees of the Year

The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office named an employee of the year from each of its two main divisions. Inormation about both (below) was provided by the sheriff's office in a statement. 

Benjamin McManus is the 2024 Grand Traverse County Sheriff's OfFrce Law Enforcement
Division Employee of the Year. He has been employed full-time with the GTSO since 2005.
While at the Sheriff's Office he has had many roles including community police officer, field
training officer, arson investigator, oversight of the peer support team, and recreational services
division supervisor. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2017, where he has continued to excel. He
is highly regarded by those he works with and has gained the respect and trust of many inside
and outside of our agency.

Joseph Seaburg is the 2024 Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division
Employee of the Year. Prior to beginning his career as a corrections officer in 2015, he was a
member of the field services division reserve program. He is a corrections training officer and
responsible for all fire inspections within the jail. The fire marshal noted that his attention to
detail is remarkable. Supervisors have stated that he has shown leadership and coaching ability
above and beyond his years of service.
