TC Woman Arrested for Home Invasion

A Traverse City woman was arrested for home invasion after breaking into a house and taking items.

A trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post was dispatched to a report of a breaking and entering at a residence on Meadow Woods Drive in Traverse City. A relative of the occupant was going to the home daily while the occupant was away. The relative noticed the back door had been forced open.

Video surveillance was reviewed and the suspect, known to the relative and occupant as 27-year-old Ashlee Judith Middaugh from Traverse City, was seen inside the home and taking items from the residence. Middaugh was interviewed and arrested a short time later. She was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail.

Middaugh was arraigned in 86th District Court on one count of second degree home invasion and one count of lying to a peace officer. Her bond was set at $5,000 cash surety. A probable cause conference has been scheduled for October 1 at 2pm in front of Chief Magistrate Tammi Rogers. Court records show Middaugh has a previous criminal history, having faced multiple retail fraud and larceny charges in past incidents.
