Urgent Needs Fund Established At Community Foundation

An Urgent Needs Fund has been established at the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation to raise funds to help local organizations that are providing vital services during the coronavirus crisis.
 
“We know that there are community members who want to support the local response and that the effects of COVID-19 will put increased pressure on our nonprofit partners to meet the needs of the many who will be impacted,” said David Mengebier, Community Foundation president and CEO. “The Urgent Needs Fund provides opportunity to connect that community giving to emerging needs.”
 
The fund is being seeded with initial contributions from the Community Foundation, Rotary Charities of Traverse City, Oleson Foundation, the United Way of Northwest Michigan, DTE Foundation, Herrington-Fitch Family Foundation, and the Huckle Family Foundation. The Fund will be used make grants to local nonprofit, governmental, and educational organizations that are providing vital services and basic needs and will support efforts that are impacting and benefiting communities across Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, and Leelanau Counties.
