Weapons Detection System To Be Tested at Thirlby

TCAPS and local law enforcment will test a new weapon detection system at Thirlby Field in the coming weeks.

According to an email from Central High School Principal Ben Berger to parents, this "advanced technology is designed to provide an extra layer of security, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all."

"We want to emphasize there are currently no known threats and this pilot program is simply a precautionary measure to protect our students, staff, and visitors," Berger wrote in the email. "By testing this system, we aim to assess its effectiveness and gather valuable feedback to inform future implementation decisions.

TCAPS officials tell The Ticker the test will occur at at a Central High School junior varsity football game in the coming weeks, though they did not know which game.
