Bay Theatre In Suttons Bay Slated To Close

Nov. 15, 2018

The historic Bay Theatre in downtown Suttons Bay is slated to close at the end of this year.

A messsage on the Bay's web site says, "For the last 40 plus years the Bahle Family has enjoyed entertaining our friends and neighbors at the Bay Theater. Now the time has come to pass it on. We hope to find new enthusiasm and energy to keep this wonderful asset alive in our community."

The Bay has served as a single-screen movie theater and concert venue dating back to 1946. It was renovated in the 1970s and again in 2017.

The owners will host a "community forum" on December 11 at 6pm at the theatre to hear ideas for the future of the venue.
