Big Brothers Big Sisters Earns National Award

For the second straight year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan has received the National Quality Award, one of only 36 affiliates to receive the distinction out of 400 agencies across the nation. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters' received the award for meeting or exceeding goals related to program quality, number of children served and financial stability. The award presentation took place June 26 at the group’s national conference.

"Receiving this quality award for the second year in a row is a great testament to the hard work being accomplished by our team" says Cecilia Chesney, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan.  

Over the past year, the local program served more than 400 children in a five-county region.
