Demolition Work Begins At Eastern Elementary

By Beth Milligan | July 14, 2017

Demolition work kicked off this week at Eastern Elementary School - work that will precede the construction of a new $14.5 million school at the Eastern Avenue site.

Members of the public can watch both the demolition and progress on the new building from the outside of the perimeter of the work site, which is enclosed by fencing. The school's reconstruction will immediately follow the old building's demolition. Eastern Elementary's new two-story, 59,000 square-foot facility will feature modern classroom designs and amenities and expanded capacity to accommodate up to 550 students.

Construction of the new school building is expected to be complete by August 2018.
