Dennos Closed Until September

By Luke Haase | May 3, 2017

The Dennos Museum Center closed to the public Monday and will remain closed until approximately mid-June in order to accommodate construction.

The museum at Northwestern Michigan College is undergoing an almost 15,000 square-foot expansion adding permanent collections galleries on the museum side and a multi-purpose room and revamped loading dock to Milliken Auditorium. The expansion is the result of several significant local donations, including $1 million from Barbara and Dudley Smith III and $2 million from Diana and Richard Milock.

"We look forward to these expanded opportunities that enhance our mission to engage, enlighten and entertain our audiences through the collection of art, and the presentation of exhibitions and programs in the visual arts, sciences and performing arts," the Dennos said in a statement Monday.

The public will still be able to access the museum for previously scheduled events. Questions and ticket purchases will still be accommodated during regular business hours Monday-Friday at 231-995-1055.
