Donations Sought For Bikes For Tikes

By Beth Milligan | Nov. 23, 2018

Bikes for Tikes is seeking donations to meet its goal of donating at least 300 new bikes to children in need this Christmas.

Now in its sixteenth year, Bikes for Tikes collects new bike donations through the Christmas season, assembles them with a team of volunteers, and distributes them through Northwest Michigan Toys for Tots and Toys for Tots of Otsego County. The organization has distributed over 3,000 new bikes since the program began.

“A new bike is a special gift to any kid,” says Bill Marsh Jr. of Bill Marsh Auto, a drop-off center for the program. “But so many families just can’t afford that luxury. Thousands of kids have had an amazing Christmas as a result of this bike drive.”

The bike campaign is active through December 14. New bikes can be dropped off at all Bill Marsh dealerships in Traverse City, Kalkaska and Gaylord, as well as at the studios of WKHQ and BOB FM in Acme.
