Father Fred Frostbite Food Drive Kicks Off Soon

Feb. 5, 2025

Father Fred's annual Frostbite Food Drive begins Saturday, February 15.

Represenatives from the organization will be at Traverse City area Tom’s, Oleson’s, and Oryana stores February 15th through 23rd collecting non-perishable food donations and cash or online donations.

Monetary donations allow them to purchase fresh items like eggs, milk, meats and produce. People can also drop off non-perishable food donations at Team Bob’s Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, at Williams Chevrolet, and at Fox Grand Traverse Ford.

The community need for food assistance continues to be high, according to a statement from Father Fred, which had more than 15,000 visits to its food pantry last year.

"This growing need in our community and the increased costs to stock our pantry, has drastically impacted our food budget. We need your help," the statement reads. "We are firmly committed to meeting the demand but rely on help from our generous community. Please stop by a store and donate or give online. Your contributions and support help us continue to provide nourishing food to individuals and families right here in our community."
