Input Wanted on County Parks and Recreation Plan

By Beth Milligan | Aug. 22, 2023

Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation is seeking community input to help develop the county’s Parks and Recreation plan. The plan is updated every five years and is shaped in part by a community needs assessment.

Public input is being collected on how visitors to the county's parks use them now and also how they hope to interact with them in the future. Residents are encouraged to complete an online survey, which takes an estimated 9-11 minutes to finish. The survey will be available until Saturday, August 26 at 11:59pm.

Having an updated Parks and Recreation plan on file with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources qualifies Grand Traverse County to apply for grants to develop the county's public outdoor recreational facilities from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, and the Recreation Passport Grant Program.
