JD Vance to Visit Traverse City Wednesday

By Beth Milligan | Sept. 23, 2024

Senator JD Vance, the Republican candidate for vice president, will make a campaign stop in Traverse Wednesday at the Northwestern Michigan Fair grounds.

Vance is scheduled to deliver remarks at 7pm. Doors open at 4:30pm and the campaign event starts at 6:30pm. Interested attendees can register online here. The Northwestern Michigan Fair grounds are located at 3606 Blair Townhall Road. Vance is expected to address the auto industry and inflation in his remarks, according to the campaign.

Candidates from both parties have made multiple visits recently to Michigan, which is a key battleground state in the upcoming election. Former President Donald Trump visited Flint last week, while Democratic presidential nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris was hosted by Oprah Winfrey in Detroit for an event Thursday that was livestreamed nationally.
