Multiple Departments Respond to Holiday Hills Fire

By Beth Milligan | March 8, 2024

Multiple departments responded to a fire in Acme Township Thursday night that continued into the early morning hours Friday.

Grand Traverse Metro Emergency Services Authority, Traverse City Fire Department, Peninsula Township Fire Department, and Whitewater Township Fire Department responded to the house fire in the Holiday Hills area of Acme Township.

"Initial units arrived on scene to heavy fire conditions," according to GT Metro, which described it as a two-alarm structure fire. Fires are rated on a scale of one to five alarms, with the rating typically describing how severe a fire is and how many resources need to be deployed to manage it.

All of the occupants of the residence escaped, according to GT Metro, with one individual taken to the hospital for further evaluation. The last units cleared the scene at 6:20am. "Thank you to all our mutual aid partners and the The Salvation Army Traverse City for canteen services," GT Metro posted on Facebook.
