Nessel Names Chris Rogers as GT County Public Administrator

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has announced the appointment of Chris Rogers as Grand Traverse County Public Administrator. County public administrators have powers and duties primarily related to intestate decedent estates where there are apparently no known heirs, including managing the determination, collection, liquidation, and/or distribution of any assets in the estate.
Attorneys in the role "often have private practice responsibilities that are separate and unrelated to their appointment as county public administrator," according to the state. Rogers, of Traverse City, is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. He is admitted to the Illinois State Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan. He is also a member of the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association. In 2010, he joined his father at the firm now known as Kuhn Rogers PLC based in Traverse City, where Rogers has practiced for the last 15 years.
"Chris’ roots in the community and extensive professional experience make him an excellent choice to serve as a public administrator," Nessel said in a statement. "I am grateful for his commitment to Grand Traverse County and know he will serve residents well."
Rogers practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, real property and property tax law, and business law. He was sworn into his new role on April 10.
