New Munson Parking Deck Opens Today

By Beth Milligan | Oct. 1, 2018

Following more than a year of construction, Munson Medical Center's new three-story parking deck will open today (Monday) at the Sixth Street campus.

The structure is located in the hospital's former Parking Lot A at the corner of Sixth Street and Elmwood Avenue. The entrance to the deck is located off of Sixth Street. The structure will provide nearly 500 covered parking spaces for the hospital and is a precursor to a major expansion that includes the construction of a $36 million, 110-foot new Family Birth and Children’s Center.

With the opening of the parking deck, valet parking will no longer be available at the hospital’s front entrance or at the Cowell Family Cancer Center. Cancer Center patients and visitors can park in Lot B adjacent to the Cowell Family Cancer Center, or in the new parking deck. Parking Lot C, located behind the Munson Professional Building, will remain reserved for patients and visitors.
