New Urgent Care Veterinarian Coming To Traverse City In 2024

By Craig Manning | Oct. 24, 2023

A new veterinary care office is coming to Traverse City, with plans to offer urgent care services to pet owners throughout the region. The business, called Omnivet, announced itself to the northern Michigan community through a brief Facebook video posted late last week. The video touted Omnivet for its “Veterinary Urgent Care & Specialty” and teased a 2024 opening date. The Omnivet website lists a Traverse City address at 3960 West Royal Drive.

“As one of the only stand-alone veterinary urgent care facilities in northern Michigan, Omnivet serves as an essential intermediary between general veterinary practitioners and emergency and critical care veterinarians...” Omnivet writes on its website. “By setting new standards for seamless service and transparency, Omnivet reimagines care to offer pet parents specialty and urgent care services, without the long wait times.”

Currently, most veterinary offices in Traverse City fall into the general practice or primary care category. Emergency needs are mostly met by Bay Area Pet Hospital, a 24/7 animal hospital located on Front Street. Omnivet’s aim is to be an option for pet owners who require service somewhere in between those two categories.

“Today’s pet owners understand the importance of compassionate, expert care whenever they may need it — and Omnivet is carving out a niche in the veterinary industry to make that happen,” the business description on the website continues. “This niche relies on collaboration: between pets, pet parents, vets, referring vets, and staff. We are all connected, and we all play a role in helping pets live their lives to the fullest.”
