Palmer Woods Mountain Bike Trail To Open Nov. 4

By Beth Milligan | Oct. 26, 2018

The first flow-style mountain biking trail north of Grand Rapids is set to open in northern Michigan next weekend.

The Leelanau Conservancy will open the first three-mile loop of its new mountain bike trail system in the 721-acre Palmer Woods Forest Reserve in Leelanau County on Sunday, November 4. Cyclists are invited to come for a free opening day trail ride and tailgate celebration from 1pm to 3pm. Riders should bring their own bikes, gear, and safety equipment - plus whatever they'd like to enjoy tailgating afterward - and meet in the main Palmer Woods parking lot on South Wheeler Road. The trail, which is still under final construction, will not be accessible to the public before the November 4 opening.

Cyclists who plan to attned the opening day trail ride can register online here.
