Sparty Coming to Friday Night Live

Michigan State University's mascot Sparty will make a special appearance during Downtown Traverse City's Friday Night Live.

WHEN: Friday, Aug. 7 at Friday Night Live, sometime between 6pm and 9pm.

WHERE: Downtown Traverse City, Front Street between Union Street and Boardman Avenue

WHO: Hosted by the Downtown Traverse City Association

DETAILS: FNL is a free community celebration featuring live music, local nonprofit organizations, food & beverage vendors, and group activities. The annual Downtown Street Sale will be held simultaneously, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 7. With thousands of Michigan State alumni and fans throughout northern Michigan, Sparty's appearance is expected to be a highlight of the evening. Media are welcome to attend and record Sparty's visit, along with the festivities taking place throughout downtown.

The second of two FNL events will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, 6-9 p.m. on Front Street between Union and Park Streets.
