By Beth Milligan | Nov. 17, 2018

Traverse City Baseball, the organization bringing a new Northwoods League baseball team to Wuerfel Park, released the team's 2019 schedule Friday.

The team will open at home on Tuesday, May 28 against the Green Bay Booyah at 7:05pm, followed by a 11am contest on Wednesday, May 29. The park will host an Opening Day celebration on May 28 and a "school day game" on May 29. The team will then hit the road for a two-game series against the Rockford Rivets on May 30 and 31 before returning home again on June 1. June will feature 16 home dates, including 7 home games on every Saturday night at 7:05pm and four Sunday games. Sunday game times will be at 2pm early in the season and then switch to 6pm for the final two Sundays. Regular game times for Monday-Saturday games will be at 7:05pm, with a few exceptions for weekday day games.

Sixteen home games are scheduled for July, including four home games over the Fourth of July holiday. A day-night doubleheader is planned for Tuesday, July 23. The season wraps up with two games in August including the final home game on Friday, August 9. In total, the season features 36 home games in a 72-game schedule running through August 11.

Traverse City Baseball indicated an announcement of the team's name will be coming soon, along with season and group ticket sales dates.

"Now that we have the schedule completed, we will be finalizing the promotional calendar, setting fireworks dates, and putting together the pieces that will make 2019 a season to remember," says Traverse City Baseball CEO Joe Chamberlin. "While we don’t have dates finalized...we know a few of our favorite theme nights will be on the calendar in 2019, including Star Wars Night, complete with an appearance from the 501st Legion, Paw Patrol Night, including your favorite pup characters, and a fantastic Fourth of July celebration."
