No Direct Traverse City-Orlando Route This Winter

Dec. 15, 2020

Allegiant Airlines has confirmed to Cherry Capital Airport and The Ticker that its direct Traverse City-Orlando Sanford International Airport route will stop in early January. Sarah Richardson, Allegiant's manager of airport affairs, notes "SFB-TVC will return in the summer schedule for 2021 but will not be for the spring. This is due to the amount of aircraft and crew needed for this route. SFB as a destination has not made a full comeback yet but that is not unusual considering the pandemic and the theme park appeal."

Cherry Capital CEO Kevin Klein tells The Ticker, "Allegiant Air will be making adjustments to schedules and destinations. Allegiant will return service to Punta Gorda, Florida on December 18, 2020. On January 2, 2021 Allegiant Air will change service to Orlando/Sanford to seasonal status with a planned return in summer of 2021. Phoenix/Mesa's seasonal service will also return on February 11, 2021.  Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater will continue to operate as scheduled."
