Trump to Visit Traverse City Friday

By Beth Milligan | Oct. 22, 2024

Former President Donald Trump is set to make a campaign stop in Traverse City Friday at Avflight at Cherry Capital Airport.

Doors for the event open at 3:30pm, with Trump scheduled to give remarks at 7:30pm. Registration for the event is available online here. In announcing the rally, Trump's campaign said that the "auto industry is the backbone of Michigan, and a wave of layoffs is fueling outrage among workers in the Great Lakes State," adding: "Donald J. Trump is the only candidate who can save the auto industry in Michigan and restore prosperity to the state."

Michigan is a closely contested battleground state in the upcoming election, with both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris - as well as surrogates for both campaigns - making frequent appearances across the state. Former President Barack Obama has a scheduled stop in Detroit Tuesday at a rally on behalf of Harris.
