A Traverse City man and Beulah woman who both had outstanding warrants were arrested during a traffic stop in Blair Township Thursday, with drug paraphernalia found in the car.
A trooper from the Michigan State Police Traverse City post stopped a vehicle just before 2:30pm Thursday on Vance Road near M-37. The driver, a 38-year-old Traverse City man, was out on parole for drug and weapons crimes. He also had a warrant for his arrest out of Clare County. There was no insurance on the vehicle, and a tow truck was called.
During a vehicle search, drug paraphernalia with fentanyl residue was found. Approximately 58 grams of methamphetamine and additional evidence of narcotics sales and delivery were also found. A passenger, a 32-year-old Beulah woman, was in possession of heroin/fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The driver was arrested for the warrant, possession with intent to distribute meth, evidence tampering,
and parole violation. The passenger also had multiple warrants. Both suspects were lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail pending arraignment. The trooper was assisted by another trooper and a deputy from the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office.
