Walk For Warmth: May 21

May 12, 2016

The Community Outreach Council, a group of Traverse City West Senior High School students selected for their leadership skills, has organized the Walk for Warmth, a walk-a-thon in support of Safe Harbor. The students surveyed, researched and chose an issue in the community that they determined most needed volunteer help. Safe Harbor offers emergency shelter to individuals experiencing homelessness during the winter.

The Walk for Warmth will be held at Thirlby Field on Sat., May 21 from 11am-5pm. People can support the walk by organizing a team, joining an existing team or donating to the cause. All funds raised will help support transportation services to the network of churches that participate in the shelter program. The students hope to raise $5,000.
