June 21, 2017

Authorities are continuing to investigate after the body of a Grand Rapids woman was found in a Grand Traverse Resort & Spa pond Sunday.

Emergency personnel responded to the resort property after receiving a report that a woman's body had been discovered in the pond. Authorities identified the woman as Brooke Jordan Blake, 36, of Grand Rapids. Blake had been staying at the resort with her husband and three children.

The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office stated Monday that preliminary results from an autopsy in Kalamazoo showed Blake died from drowning. The autopsy did not show any signs of trauma or evidence of foul play. Toxicology reports are still pending. The death remains under investigation by Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office detectives, according to the department.
