Northern Express Will Reach Detroit, Grand Rapids For First Time

Sept. 1, 2023

Northern Express is again making news. The weekly publication — available online and in print at more than 700 locations in 13 counties — will for the first time in its 32-year history also be mailed to more than 3,000 homes downstate. The October “Wine & Harvest” issue will serve as a showcase of the people, places and businesses throughout northern Michigan to residents in Kent and Oakland Counties.

“It’s an experiment and a chance to (re)introduce our region to those who may want to visit us during the stunning fall and winter seasons,” says Northern Express Editor Jillian Manning. “The issue has been so fun for our team to work on already,” she adds, “with features about everything from winemakers to farmers to new restaurants. We’re putting a spotlight on some key fall events and icons, but every Express is also a bit of a cornucopia, a snapshot of all things northern Michigan.”

The issue will be mailed to a list of some 3,000 homes in Kent and Oakland Counties each with a net worth in excess of $3 million. To learn more about advertising opportunities in this special issue, email the Northern Express advertising team here.
